"All American Hot Dog Eating Contest" Friday, July 24 - 4:30 p.m.

Presented by WCMP 100.9 Cool Country – Pine City

On Friday afternoon, fair visitors have an opportunity to compete for prizes in the 1st Annual “All American Hot Dog Eating Contest” presented by WCMP Radio of Pine City. It will be located at the WCMP/Isanti County Equipment tent near the kennel building. Hot dog lovers will be provided with hot dogs and will be timed to determine the fastest eater during a live broadcast from the Isanti County Fair. Contestants will be chosen day of event by WCMP radio personalities. Listen to WCMP at 100.9FM or stop by the WCMP broadcast trailer at the fair located near the kennel building for all the details.

Saturdays at the Fair - 4-H Activities & Drawings for Prizes
Saturday, July 25

The county fair has always been a celebration of farming and family in our counties of Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec and Pine. In addition to our coverage of the entire fair activities, WCMP will be highlighting 4-H each Saturday during each county fair. During Saturday's broadcasts we will celebrate and honor the 4-H kids with "WCMP 4-H Day at the Fair." We will be doing interviews of the kids on-air during our broadcasts. A John Deere tractor will be on display for a photo 0p; Pepsi will provide beverages; plus any other sponsor of 4-H can participate by bringing gifts or prizes. Prizes include: John Deere model tractors; Nickelodeon Universe; Twins tickets; Noah's Ark wristbands; Minnesota Zoo; and a Mall of America family package valued at $198. Your business can be a part of this celebration by being a 4-H sponsor at any one of the county fairs or all four.

Special Apple Pie Competition,
Sunday, July 26 - 2 p.m.

Do your family and friends think you bake the best apple pie in the area? Get warmed up for Braham Pie Days and bring your best homemade apple pie to the Open Class Exhibit Building on Sunday, July 26 by 1 p.m. Judging by a celebrity panel will begin at 2 p.m. Pies will be judged on flavor, appearance, creativity, crust, balance of ingredients and consistency. First place will receive $20 and a special rosette declaring the winner "2009 Isanti County Fair Apple Pie Champion." Second place will receive $10. Please bring entry in a standard 9" disposable tin. NO ADVANCE ENTRY!
